You might be wondering why it’s been so long since I’ve written anything here. Not me; I’m just wondering which of the nine-million reasons to list. Perhaps the foremost is this: how in the world do you tell the world that you’re courting? I mean, it’s so exciting and earth-shattering and just plain weird all at the same time, and you don’t want to say it in a way that fails to express all of those things. ’Course, in the end, a paragraph like this might do the trick.

Of course, if you didn’t already know this, what you’re really wondering is, “Who in the world is it?!?” Read on to find out…

Her name is Katie Stone. Her current place of residence is Brownsville, Oregon (yes, I know, it IS the other side of the country). We met each other while I was working with IBLP in Chicago, where she was the secretary for my department. My trip to the West Coast (see the Albums link on the left side of the page for pictures) was primarily to spend time with her and her family.

Right now I’m learning patience (lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of patience), waiting for our next rendezvous, which will be in Chicago on Friday (August 2). I will be there for the XP Universe conference, and she will be spending time with her brother, sister-in-law and newborn niece… and, of course, yours truly. After the conference, we will be flying back to Raleigh together, and she will be spending about a week and a half with my family (August 7-19). Her mother will be coming for a few days as well.
