From the Fiancé

Hello Friends of Nathaniel! This is Katie Stone, Nathaniel was very trusting of me and said I could type whenever I felt like it. I’m feeling like it so here goes…

The biggest news is that Nathaniel and I are now engaged. (You can see engagement photos in the photo album.) I flew out to North Carolina to visit him and his family the first part of August. While there, on August 9th, Nathaniel brought me on a picnic and asked me to marry him. He gave me the most beautiful ring and the best part is that he told me he loved me! (Sorry to gross any of you out – but it is part of the story.) The date for our wedding is set for October 19th, 2002. It will be in Lebanon Oregon at my home church. (We will be sending out the invitations in a week or two.)

I could go on about how wonderful Nathaniel is, but I’m sure you already know that! God’s goodness in giving Nathaniel to me is almost beyond belief.

I am reminded these days that, “God is good – all the time!” Last year was a tough year for me personally, and even during that time God was just as good as He is today. I’ve been reading through the Psalms and in them the unchangeable character of God is reiterated over and over again. He never changes! He is a Rock that is higher than I. It’s a truth I find strengthening and encouraging.

Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.
Let the redeemed of the LORD say so,
Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy,

Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness,
And for His wonderful works to the children of men!
For He satisfies the longing soul,
And fills the hungry soul with goodness.

Psalm 107:1-2 & 8-9

Until next time,

~ Katie
