“Behold a Son!” Such is the meaning of this little one’s name, and such is my exclamation as I look upon his tiny form and thank God for giving him to us. How good and how merciful is God Almighty, who has given us such an awesome reminder of the beauty of life, and the sacrifice necessary to bring it about.
After a quick labor, Katie gave birth to Reuben Blakely early in the morning this Sunday. He’s three weeks early, but both mother and baby are doing fine. I write this from home, where we’re all resting after the night’s excitement.

Now I look towards the future with mixed awe and terror, realizing that I will only be the father that I ought to be in the coming years by God’s grace. But, of course, He has plenty of that, so I’m not worrying too much about it. Instead, I think I’ll go join the baby and its mother in getting some ZZZ’s.
